Kick the Habit

The Kick the Habit smoking cessation support programme was the first of its kind that saw health and football professionals working together to improve the lives of the local population.

It was developed in partnership with NHS Greenwich (now RBG Public Health and Wellbeing) in 2006 and it is from this hugely successful smoking cessation programme that all of CACT’s health improvement programmes have grown. Since it began, Kick the Habit has helped many quit smoking through its roadshows and drop ins all over Greenwich.

Specialist Kick the Habit advisors recruit smokers to the full range of stop smoking services in the borough supporting them to achieve four-week quitter status, a point at which smokers are five times more likely to stay smoke free for good.
