Charlton legend Bob Bolder has shown his support to the Trusts’ Football Fans in Training programme by agreeing to join in with those taking part.
The programme was developed by the Scottish Premier League and take place on Monday evenings at The Valley. They are available to men aged between 35-65 who have a waist measurement of more than 38 inches, to bring about behavior changes in order to improve their health.
The ex-Charlton goalkeeper will attend on October 24th to motivate those attending and get involved in the activities.
He said: “I’m really looking forward to meeting the guys – they’re all a similar age and ability so it’ll be great to have a bit of banter and join in with some physical activity.
“I’ll be getting involved too – I like to lead from the front so wouldn’t expect them to do anything I’m not prepared to do myself!”
The programme, which started earlier this month, educates about diet and exercise. It includes stadium-based training sessions and pedometer-based homework which will set weekly targets to increase daily step count.
There will also be a qualified nutritionist on hand to offer one-to-one advice and assessments on current diets.
“The programme is all about being more active and leading a healthier lifestyle.” Said Bob. “Every decision you make to become healthier goes hand in hand; more exercise, giving up smoking, eating better, they all contribute towards a healthier, happier you.
“The guys running the FFIT sessions are a great bunch, so if you fancy a challenge and want to get on a healthy path, come down to The Valley on Tuesday evenings and get involved!
FFIT takes place at The Valley on Monday evenings from 7pm until 9pm. Click here for more information, or call 0800 470 4831.
