THE UPBEATS LAUNCH THEIR NEW KIT

The Upbeats, Charlton’s favourite Down’s syndrome football team, will be gracing the fields in their new kit this season after they arrived at the Sparrows Lane office earlier this week.

Sponsoring the kit once again is Charlton Life (CL), the online fans forum for Charlton Athletic. Instrumental in The Upbeats creation, CL played a big role in getting thousands of votes to get the initial funding to help set up the project 8 years ago.

Additionally, 3 years ago, CL then provided the funds to kit out the whole Upbeats project, including tracksuit tops, socks, shorts and shirts.

They have then fully embraced ‘Upbeats Day’ over the last 2 years, helping promote the annual event, encouraging walkers to take park in the 9-mile walk to The Valley to raise further funds for the project.

Carl Krauhaus, head of early help and prevention said, “We can’t thank Charlton Life enough for their on-going support and contribution to The Upbeats.”

“They’ve taken the project to their hearts, finding unique and generous ways of supporting the cause.

“Being fully funded by donations and fundraising we felt it was only right to again put their logo on the new shirts to thank them for being so supportive over the years.”

Organisations like Charlton Life, as well as the numerous donations from Charlton supporters, have enabled The Upbeats to have some amazing experiences over the last 8 years. This includes winning the national Down’s syndrome title 4 times and competing earlier this year in the George Best Community Cup in Belfast.

As ‘Official Kit Sponsors’ of Charlton Athletic Community Trust and big supporters of The Upbeats, ITRM’s logo also features on the new outfit.
