Charlton Athletic Community Trust (CACT) is delighted that Whitecode Design Associates has confirmed to continue its association with CACT for a further three years as a patron.
Whitecode is partnered with CACT’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion strand, which promotes social inclusion and tackles inequality and discrimination. Most recently, this was demonstrated through CACT’s float in the Pride in London Parade, which included CACT Invicta FC, CACT's affiliated LGBTQI+ friendly team, as well as representatives from CAFC, the Proud Valiants LGBT+ supporters group and others.
The Equality, Diversity and Inclusion strand also includes the award-winning Charlton Athletic Race Equality (CARE) Partnership and runs a series of workshops for primary school children that culminates in Red, White and Black Day, a celebration of equality and diversity.
Steve Wisdom from Whitecode Design Associates said:
“We are delighted once again to continue our association with CACT and it was a simple decision to make. I am always hugely impressed how the CACT continually set the standard and are often imitated but rarely bettered – things like the LGBTQI+ team has once again drawn tremendous praise within the national media and is now being adopted at other clubs. The ground-breaking Upbeats, National Champions once again, are still changing lives and that all started here. In 2017 I was fortunate to attend a meeting where 5 or 6 young people from differing walks of life discussed the impact CACT had on their lives and it was fantastic to see the transformation of people who could so easily have taken the wrong path – but the assorted schemes of CACT showed them a path that has immeasurably improved their outlook on life and of those they can now impact. This is why we are so proud to be a part of something that is changing lives.
“Whilst things on the pitch haven’t gone quite to plan in recent years at Charlton the CACT is still a shining light and so we are delighted to align ourselves with them once again.
Jason Morgan MBE, CACT’s Chief Executive, said:
“We’re so pleased to continue working with Whitecode as one of our patrons. Their support makes a huge difference to CACT’s work at the heart of the community.
“As a company Whitecode go over and above supporting charities, taking part in the Upbeats Walk and Prostate Cancer UK Cycle Ride.”
