    Situation

We hope to solve two problems with this project: 1. There is a growing education attainment gap between children of different socio-economic backgrounds that has been exacerbated by the COVID pandemic. 2. Food poverty is a growing crisis for many of the families of young people we support, and this will only be exacerbated by the cost-of-living crisis that is unfolding. This is especially acute for families eligible for free school meals during the school holidays.

    Solution

    1. Our tutoring programme offers free tutoring and catch up support provided by qualified teachers to address the growing attainment gap. 2. CACT are looking to include an offer of nutritious food on all of our summer programmes and expand this food offering to as many of our projects as possible.
