Charlton Athletic Community Trust (CACT) received the Young Londoners Award at the London Sport Awards on 6 December.
The Young Londoners Award, in association with Sported, celebrates the outstanding work of individuals and organisations who are providing young people (under the age of 25) with the best opportunity to live a physically active life.
CACT is delighted to have been presented with this award for its work delivering activities on the community pitch to over 4,000 participants as well as offering free two-hour sole-use slots for clinically vulnerable young children.
Amongst those representing CACT at the award ceremony was CEO Jason Morgan, Charlton Athletic owner Thomas Sandgaard and Chair of Trustees Marilyn Toft.
CACT’s CEO Jason Morgan said:
“We are so proud to have been presented with the Young Londoners Award at the London Sport Awards. CACT staff have worked tirelessly throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, and I’m delighted that we were able to continue to deliver so many activities to young people. The outdoor sessions recognised were an important part of this alongside holiday camps for those in Greenwich and Bexley on free school meals.
