VIDEO | Skipper supports Super Movers scheme

Charlton Athletic club captain and player-coach Johnnie Jackson joined Charlton Athletic Community Trust (CACT) at Alderwood Primary School in Eltham on Thursday 18 January to support a new Premier League and BBC scheme to encourage school pupils to get active.

Launched on 15 January, Super Movers is a two-year programme aimed at five to 11-year-olds. It encourages teachers to bring more physical activity into the school day so children can move while they learn.

Jackson answered a range of questions from pupils in Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6, talking about the importance of keeping fit and living a healthy lifestyle. He was also joined by mascot Sir Valiant.

Sean Daly, CACT’s Head of Football and Sports Development, said:

“I’d like to thank Johnnie for taking the time to join us at Alderwood Primary School.

“We’re very happy to support the Super Movers scheme to complement the ongoing work we do to encourage healthy lifestyles, and sessions such as our holiday courses place great importance on keeping children fit and healthy.”
