CACT Football & Education Academy - Male
Based at: Charlton Athletic Community Trust, CAFC Training Ground, Footscray Rugby Club Entrance Footscray Road, London, SE9 2EL
Education provider: SCL
The BTEC-based education programme is delivered by specialist SCL tutors with CACT UEFA qualified coaches, delivering all aspects of the football training and match day programme.
All training and matches will take place at CACT, with education taking place at the nearby University of Greenwich or in the new CACT classroom. All CACT coaches are UEFA qualified and have up-to-date First Aid training, safeguarding, and DBS. Players involved in the CACT F&E Academy will play in either the National League Conference Youth Alliance League or the SCL Development League.
Open to talented footballers aged between 16-18, the academy programme is a must for any football enthusiast. It is suggested that all interested players attend an open evening to discuss with coaches and tutors the programme. These are to be held on the following dates:
Monday 23 March 2020 - 6pm-8pm
After attending an open evening, players will be invited to enrol onto a football assessment. All offers are based on playing ability and final GCSE results. This is a fully funded course with players only having to make a small paying contribution for training kit.
For the 2020/21 season CACT is pleased to be offering football exit routes in partnership with Welling Town Football Club. Members of the SECFL Premier Division, Welling Town have a first team and reserves and a proud reputation of promoting local, young talent. Already during the 2019/20 season, eight CACT Post-16 Football Academy players have been invited to play with the reserves, with one player involved in first team affairs.
